Jamestown Jammers Media & Communications Relations Internship
The Jammers
The Jamestown Jammers are the short season Class A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. The team plays at historic Russell E. Diethrick, Jr. Park in Jamestown, NY and our season consists of 76 games from June through September.
Job Summary
This person will be primarily responsible for media relations, community event planning, game day operations, and website development during the 2010 Jammer season. This is a combined for credit and paid internship that will start in May and run through September 10th.
Responsibilities
Media Relations- handles all aspects of media relations. Write press releases and team stat packs. Report transactions to media outlets and Minor League Baseball.
Community Events- help plan and execute community events through out the region, promote youth out reach programs.
Game Day- responsibilities include public address announcer, operating music software, providing home and away team with necessary statistics.
Website development- handle all operation of team's website, update team site daily with up to date stories and events.
Requirements
Must have at least sophomore status a respective school with a major in Sport Management or related field.
Effective oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Must be resourceful with strong analytical skills and creativity.
Competency in the following computer programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Adobe Photoshop, Internet, and Email.

Jamestown Jammers Operations Internship

This person will be primarily responsible for ticket, merchandise, promotion and website operations during the 2010 Jammer season. This is a combined for credit and paid internship to start in May and run through September 10th.
Responsibilities
Ticket Operations- handles all aspects of tickets operations. Handle ticket window operations. Assist with group sales & tent parties. Assist with ticket inventory database.
Merchandise Operations- assist in all merchandise operations. Assist in team's store; maintain inventory, reorder products, etc.
Promotion Operations-help plan an execute community events through out the region, promote youth out reach programs, plan game day promotions.
Website Operations- assist with operation of team's website, online merchandise and ticket orders.
Requirements
Must have at least sophomore status a respective school with a major in Sport Management or related field.
Effective oral and written communication and organizational skills.

Jamestown Jammers Sales & Marketing Internship

Job Summary
This person will be primarily responsible for selling signage, program ads, promotions and group outings during the 2010 Jammer season. The internship will start in May and run through September 10th. This is a combined for credit and paid internship.
Responsibilities
Person will be responsible to call on current and new clients to sell signage and advertisements.
Tent Parties - work with staff to improve policies and procedures, formulate an action plan to market and promote tent parties, sell parties for every home game to renewal clients and new clients through cold call sales. Work with local companies and groups selling promotional nights and group outings.
Youth Outreach - work with the staff increase and develop youth involvement at Diethrick Park through community involvement and promoting our youth programs (birthday parties, kids clinics, etc.)
Other duties as assigned - will work closely with the staff and be involved in all aspects of operating a Minor League Baseball team, such as season/game day ticket operations, sales/marketing, community/media relations.
Work with Assistant GM on customer relations and execution of contracts, planning of promotional nights and on other duties throughout the summer.
Requirements
Must have at least junior status at respective school with a major in Sport Management or related field.
Effective oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Must be comfortable on the phone and be a self-starter.
Must be resourceful with strong analytical skills and creativity.

Jamestown Jammers Game Day Internship

Game Day- Perform necessary tasks, duties and assessments for game day operations. Assist staff with on field operations, group outings, gift shop and other assignments.
Youth Outreach - work with the staff increase and develop youth involvement at Diethrick Park through community involvement and promoting our youth programs (birthday parties, kids clinic, etc.)

Jamestown Jammers Front Office Internship
The Jammers

Job Summary
This person will be primarily responsible for helping the front office prepare for the 2010 Jammer season. This includes assisting with ticket operations, charity work, and execution of client programs. The internship will start in January and run through May. This is a for credit internship.
Responsibilities
Help with setting up ticket operations for the 2010 season.
Work with staff to promote the Jammers throughout the community.
Youth Outreach -promoting our youth programs (birthday parties, kids clinics, etc.)
Help with the planning and execution of charity events.
Work with Assistant GM on customer relations and on other essential duties.
Requirements
Must have at least sophomore status at respective school with a major in Sport Management or related field.

Jamestown Jammers Merchandise Internship

Job Summary
This person will be primarily responsible merchandise operations during the 2010 Jammer season. This is a combined for credit and paid internship to start in May and run through September 10th.
Responsibilities
Assist in all merchandise operations.
Help run the team store (restock gift shop daily, show competent use of cash register and credit card machine).
Maintain inventory.
Reorder products.
Work with Wegmans to keep our display properly stocked and to bring merchandise back at the end of the summer.
Requirements
